Dwarka Jewels first opened its doors 34 years ago with a modest group of 10 artisans and the dreams of owner Krishna Behari Goyal. Located in the tourist hub of historical Jaipur, India, Krishna has always been inspired by the diverse visitors to his hometown.

“Throughout history, Jaipur has been a big tourist destination and, growing up, I always enjoyed speaking with visitors and learning about their home countries.” Exposed to many international customers in his grandfather’s small silver shop, Krishna developed an eye for what interested shoppers early on. He first tested his salesmanship by selling loose gemstones and artwork out of his grandfather’s shop. Then an unexpected encounter with a customer changed his life.

“A client invited me to Italy to sell loose stones and learn more about the Italian style of jewelry-making. While in Italy, I was so successful that I had to hire 10 additional workers in India to help maintain the supply of loose stones needed to fulfill my new Italian orders. During the same time, I met an Italian goldsmith who loved the beauty of our stones. He decided to travel to India and spent one year training the 10 artisans and myself in how to make high quality Italian jewelry. Those ten artisans eventually became 50, and we opened our factory in Jaipur in 2001. We now have over 120 employees with customers in Europe, the United States and retail stores throughout India.”

Dwarka Jewels specializes in creating unique collections of hand-cast rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and brooches. Using a combination of semi-precious stones with gold and silver settings, their jewelry represents both ancient designs and modern artistic concepts. Krishna is proud of the company’s growth, but particularly of Dwarka’s participation in all aspects of the production process, from start to finish.
